The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg announced about facebook new business features yesterday (23rd June 2021). He has posted it on his official facebook page. In his post he mentioned:
New commerce features coming to support businesses and make shopping easier: Shops on WhatsApp and Marketplace, Instagram Visual Search and Shops Ads.
With new business features business will be easier than before. You can increase your business profit through WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Marketplace. Here I have described the new features and how they work.
Instagram Visual Search
After a long time of internet most of the websites in the world ignores visual search. Only google and some other sites uses visual search. A visual search means searching with visual things such as photos. When you search with a photo you will see all similar photos and article that describes the photo in search result. For example, if you search google with a image of Bread you will see many breads in the search result and reviews, sales and other articles about a bread. Posting a photo of bread you will not find a content about burger. And this is the visual search. The below image is for a search with facebook logo.
Facebook is starting for the first time to have a visual search in business. However it is good news that facebook started visual search. The CEO of Facebook said about this,
Instagram Visual Search: helps you discover products based on images that inspire you.
He added more as fun that, he will use it to find more grey t-shirts. If you ever noticed his t-shirt you can easily understand why it’s a fun.
Shops on Marketplace
Facebook is the only one multivendor marketplace where you can sell anything without giving any commission. You can add your product to facebook marketplace and sell them but facebook will not ask for any share. Hence facebook marketplace is becoming popular till now. 90% of people who have any purchasing or selling experience has a transaction through facebook. On public demand facebook has separated Marketplace as a tab several time ago.
But still now facebook don’t show all products from a seller at one place on Marketplace. But this time it’s going to happen. After running this feature you can see the vendors in Market place. That means you can see all products from a seller at one place. Facebook didn’t declared whether sellers’ need to pay for this or not. But expected is this feature will be free as usual. Mark Zuckerberg said about Marketplace shop:
More than 1 billion people use Marketplace each month, so we’re making it easy for businesses to bring their Shops into Marketplace to reach even more people.
When facebook will bring shop feature on Marketplace you can have some new experience.
Shops on WhatsApp
WhatsApp show ads of different products and you can buy them from WhatsApp Marketplace. But as like facebook there was a random product listing on WhatsApp. Products are indexed according to location and types till now. But sometime we may have interest to more products from same seller. In this case it is hard to find more product in current WhatsApp. To overcome this problem Facebook is bringing Shop feature on WhatsApp.
Using shop feature sellers can list their products at same place. And buyers can see all products offered by a seller like a multivendor marketplace. This will help you to choose options like a real shop. WhatsApp Shop will be almost similar to Facebook Marketplace Shop except design.
Mark Said about WhatsApp Shop:
Soon you’ll be able to view a Shop in WhatsApp so you can chat with a business before buying something. Businesses only need to set up their shop once to have it work across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Shop Ads
Till now Facebook shows all ads in similar way. Only business pages posts with a listing of their items but all of them directs their business to their website. In this time something different is going to be happened. You can have a store in facebook as usual and add products to your shop. And while creating a ad you can create a list or just mention your shop which will take people to your shop. This will be available for both Facebook and WhatsApp.
Shop Ads will increase sales on shops of Facebook Marketplace. Expecting that Zuckerberg said:
We’re launching new ads to personalize the shopping experience and point you to a Shop’s curated collection.
Now you can take your business to another level using Facebook, Instagram and Facebook. So, don’t waste time. Be prepare for new business features in Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
